Meet "Cookie" of "The Cookie Jar" Radio Show
Over the past weekend, Cookie from "The Cookie Jar" radio show in New Orleans contacted me to inform me that her radio show was going live. She was sending me an informal invite to the show. Unfortunately, I can't be there for the opening. So I felt it only right to get a quick interview before her big day. I'm sure we'll be having a formal sit down real soon.

Lyiena: 1.) Now tell me about this radio show of yours.
Cookie: "Well The Cookie Jar is symbolic for Life...what you put into it is what you get out of it. We just use radio as a form to express it. Talk radio that is. In the jar no topic is off limit...we offer the kind of talk that old friends & new acquaintances can both enjoy. It's topical both heavy & lite but always real. & in keeping in tact w/some if it's shows predecessors we offer exposure for Nola's hottest and/or up & coming artists, as well as the who's who of the city. The host shares real life instances to almost any situation. All in all it's a fun weekly sigh of relief for the listeners who enjoy great convo...O & there's music provided by a different DJ on a weekly basis! "
Lyiena: 2.) How do you feel about the feed back that you’re
receiving from it? I know there has been various radio shows over at Loyola,
but “The Cookie Jar,” takes the cake. Is it overwhelming?
Cookie: "Overwhelming is an UNDER statement!! But I am so grateful. I can't say that I didn't expect it being that the show was requested after previously being only a 10 min segment on
Real Talk Radio...however I can say I'm not big headed from it. I still feel like the show has some things to work on but it just feels so crazy that this is really the beginning of something that can be really make an impact. As long as people continue to support & show interest. I have no choice but to put forth the effort in seeing this thing out. "
Lyiena: 3.) You emailed me recently and told me that you’re about to
change the game with a live studio audience, live interviews and giveaways.
What inspired this and are you excited?
Cookie: "Laaaaaaaaa tell me u can't feel the excitement in this email? I'm buku cheesed up (mentally lol) well during the course of any show my personalities take a life of their own. The live show came about because it just makes sense...the studio where I record is sometimes standing room only...even after a guest is interviewed they never leave right away. This causes an ongoing interaction during live shows where listeners can become envious from not being in there with us having as much fun. Hence opening it up fit everybody.
"Cookprah" birthed herself during one random episode & now she's here to stay. Following the tradition of my homegirl Oprah...it's only right to treat the ppl who blatantly care & show support to me. I couldn't see me doing a live show any other way.
I'm also expecting "CookDiddy" to show up as well. LOL
The "game changer" element comes from the fact that we don't have any live instudio talk show style shows around. Some ppl may never get to see one in their lifetime. Here I'll be providing that specially & a market that welcomes being apart of things."
Lyiena: 4.) Where do you see “The Cookie Jar” this time next year?
Cookie: "in a year...syndicated would be lovely!!!!! Otherwise I'm taking my talents to satellite radio. In a perfect LIFE (The Cookie Jar) would be free from censorship. No Eve tho...but less restricted. Sometimes I just wanna curse for no reason. LOL. But syndication is great if it's picked up."
Lyiena: 5.) Your Big Day is March 19th. Unfortunately, I
won’t be able to make it. So for others like me who will miss the in studio
session, tell us what will your topic be, who are you interviewing and what
will you be giving away?
Cookie: ":( well...hopefully people are clearing their schedules to be able to at least witness this! I'll have an exclusive interview from Natee plus surprise guest....giveaways...let's just say there is something for everyone!!!! I absolutely am covering my mouth on this one I can't tell too much. "
Lyiena: 6.) Totally off the subject, but will someone “Special” be
watching you March 19th? I’m sure my male readers want to know if
you’re single. (Some Female viewers might want to know as well) lol
Cookie: "O_O someone special? Someone special? Hmmm that'd be cute lol but I guess we gone learn THAT day...S/O to the MonStars tho... Cookie MonStars = interested male suitors. I'm totally ignoring that female question. lol
