Mr. Magic was first heard on C-Murder's song "Picture Me." His 1998 debut album "Sky's the Limit" reached #15 on the Billboard 200. Mr. Magic's second release with No Limit didn't do so well in 2003 as the label filed bankrupt. Magic went on to sign with Koch Records, then later released a single with former heavy weight champ Roy Jones Jr. and Choppa under the Body HeadBangerz called, "I Smoke, I Drank." The single was a minor hit and kept Magic in the game up until now. He and his Wife were leaving Baton Rouge headed to Mississippi for a show when they got in a fatal accident. The city of New Orleans, the 9th ward, No Limit family and friends are grieving for another N.O. KING.
R.I.P. Atwood "Mr. Magic" Johnson.
A Tribute to Mr. Magic will be held at Wild Wayne and Sess-45's Industry Influence Music Panel this Monday at the Hanger.
