New Orleans Annual Fashion Week Starts March 21-25th. The kick off party will be held at Twist and the Runway shows will be held at the Sugar Mill. Wiz Khalifa and Big Krit X Buku Music Festival (New Orleans)

Last week one of my Twitter followers brought to my attention that while Austin, TX is hosting it's annual SXSW Festival, we have a festival of our own going on. The Buku Music and Art Project takes on New Orleans today March 17th and tomorrow the 18th.The event will be held at Mardi Gras World. Hip Hop acts Wiz Khalifa and Big Krit both take the main stage. Wiz goes on at 9:30 on the 17th and Big Krit goes on at 10pm on the 18th.

Lil Wayne Takes on SXSW (Mountain Dew Stage)

SXSW is officially more commercial than ever. Lil Wayne took the stage last night at SXSW. With his skate board in hand, Weezy teamed up with Mountain Dew for the DeWeezy Campaign.

Real Housewives of Atlanta Drama: Phaedra Parks

So there is a story out about one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta that doesn't surprise me. A young lady Angela Stanton is claiming that she, Phaedra Parks of Real Housewives of Atlanta and Apollo (Phaedra's Husband) were all involved in an illegal car theft ring. Stanton went to Vibe Magazine with her tell all book: "Lies of a Real Housewife: - Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil." The car theft ring was allegedly led by Miss Parks and her husband Apollo who served time for activity dealing with his involvement. When he was released from prison in 2009, the two married and now have a son. 

Stanton is reportedly releasing her story now, because Phaedra agreed to represent her if anything happened, (which did, Stanton was arrested and served 5 years in State Pen) but fell back on her word. The story doesn't surprise me, because I'm from the hood. I know that various people do all types of scams and schemes to keep up or to obtain the image they want to acquire. Plus the chop shops and insurance fraud scams have been going on for ages. If Miss Parks was the master mind behind this, she is in for some serious trouble. Check out Angela Stanton's story below:

Phaedra Parks has allegedly hired two of the top lawyers in the country B.J. Berstein (who also represented Bishop Eddie Long) and Lin Wood (who represented Hermain Cain) to handle the matter. 

New Book: "Snowballs for All" By: Alex McConduit

My emails have been flooded with new projects from New Orleanians and I must say that I'm peacock proud. Alex McConduit is one of those people. In less then a year he's releasing his second book. (Alex released "The Who Dat Who Didn't" not long ago.) "Snowballs for All" is written on the order of a Dr. Suess children's book. It has a message, but it also rhymes. New Video: 3D Na'tee "Dear Father"

The Multi-talented Na'tee is back with a new video. "Dear Father," which is rapped, directed and edited by Na'tee herself is a video-graphy of her life coming up as a little girl without her father. She speaks on her insecurities caused because of it, as well as her insecurities in the rap game. The video takes us into a walk through the life of an Uptown New Orleans girl whose lost her father to death and her mother to drugs. Na'tee pours out her heart in this one.  "Dear Father" delivers a very transparent Nat'ee, allowing the world to see the DIVA that we don't normally see. Her story-telling skill is comparable to that of Ghostface Killa in "All That I Got is You." This song shows the Jay, the B.I.G., the Tupac in her. Check it out.

TMZ is the paparazzi KING lol. They managed to catch video footage of Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina out and about with her "God Brother" Nick Gordon. Apparently Whitney took this guy in over 12 years ago. Well he's now surfaced out of no where and is having a very intimate looking relationship with Bobbi Kristina. Kanye West's Surprise Performance at SXSW

Kanye West hopped on stage with Big Sean and 2 Chains at SOB's 30 Anniversary Party and surprised SXSW hip hop fans. South by South West Festival has been going on for years now. It seems to be more commercialized this year. Jay-Z opened the festival this past Monday and received mixed reviews for his set. many SXSW regulars were hoping that the event stayed underground....Why tho?

It's No secret that YMCMB Young Artists are after the Throne. Drake has mentioned it several times in his raps and rightfully so. You have to have something to keep you motivated. I wish all of them the greatest success. 

Beyonce and Jay-Z Both working on New Albums

The parents took a little break, but expect to see new albums from both Beyonce and Jay-Z later this year. Producer Pharrel as well as The Dream spoke on work that they're doing on Jay-Z's new album. 

"We — I say 'we' because I'm in Throne mode — we're in a great place creatively," Jay-Z said. "You might see a Jay, then Kanye and a Throne album next year."

Pharell, The Neptunes producer who often collaborates with Jay-Z, recently told MTV News that he is working with Jay-Z on a new project.

"We're working on something, it's crazy," he teased, though he wouldn't go into further details. "You know, he's very discreet."

Jay-Z released the track "Glory" about his daughter just days after her birth. Because the track included Blue Ivy Carter's cooing, she became the youngest person ever to have a song on the Billboard charts. -via (NY Post)

Jay-Z Opens South by South West (SXSW)

My fav put on last night for the opening of the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. Of course Jay-Z didn't NEED to be at the festival, but American Express asked him to perform for a LIVE synced show. Jay-Z performed all the songs that were requested via fans on Twitter.com. The show was DOPE. The live footage allowed viewers to watch the back stage action as Jay walked to the stage, dressed in all Black a colorful baseball cap and Air Yeezy 2's. There were 3 different camera views in which viewers could chose to watch from, audience view, directer's cam and backwards cam. I switched from directer's to audience to get a full effect. It felt like I was in the building. Twitter went bananas with #JayZSyncShow tweets. I loved every minute of it. If you missed it, watch below.....

Interview: Oprah sits down with Bobbi Kristina

Oprah Winfrey sat down with Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina. Bobbi Kristina says that she hears her mother's voice saying, "I got ya." Bobbi SEEMS to be holding up. She seems to be taking her mother's death well.

Let me say this, I have a very distinct spirit of discernment. That is the ability to see things that are obscure to the open eye. I'm listening to her talk and I can tell that this isn't easy for her. This is a HARD time for her. The fact that she is using the limelight, because she wants the world to know her mom had a good spirit is a mere indication. She has nothing to prove to the world for her mother. She says she has to carry on her mother's legacy. That is a very HARD task to take on. It isn't easy to carry on a legacy such as Whitney Houston's. That pressure is unimaginable. I really feel for her. She needs our prayers. I pray that she doesn't turn to the wrong things, when she finds that this time is tough. I pray that there are genuine people to there to under-gird her. I pray she is able to discern the people who are only there to use her. Check out the footage.
