New Movie Release: "Player Hating" (A Hip Hop Story)

Film Maker, Producer and Public Speaker Maggie Hadleigh-West of Film Fatale Inc. sent me information about her upcoming Hip Hop Movie "Player Hating."  While the film is based on a group of guys from Brooklyn and Brooklyn's "Thug Culture", the first showing will be here in New Orleans at Cafe Instabul starting next weekend. Former City Councilman Oliver Thomas is hosting it.

New Video: Jay Jones Feat. Kangol "One Hundred"

Jay Jones dropped the video for "One Hundred" yesterday. The song features Kangol of the New Orleans Legendary Rap Group Partners and Crime. Kangol is exhibiting his singing skills on this joint though. Rapper Skip of UTP also makes a cameo in the video. The song is nice. Go Jay!

New Video: REi "Super Dome State of Mind"

Last night REi (The Future) sent me this video and it immediately reminded me of Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" song. While there is no Alicia Keys type chorus, which would have made it all the better, the song takes you on a dope street car ride through the city of New Orleans (Pre-Katrina.) REi doesn't record, but instead he recalls his memories of the city, which may or may not be some of the same memories you've had as a New Orleanian. The beat was produced by Nesby Phipps.  One WORD = Dope.

Charlie Baltimore Back??

Remember Charlie Baltimore?? She was the red head, red bone chick signed to Murder Inc. who had also dated Notorious B.I.G.and was one third of his and Jay-Z's group "The Commission." Well she's got a role in the movie "Gang of Roses 2"  alongside Rocsi (106th and Park), Amber Rose and Teyana Taylor.  But recently she dropped a new song called, "Machine Gun." Does this mean she'll be back on the rap scene?  Idk how well she'll do without Biggie here to write her raps....LOL

Rumor has it, Terry Flenory's, the drug king pin and leader of the BMF (Black Mafia Family), wife has turned into a Shaunie O'Neal sort of and is now producing a show called, "B.M.F. Wives." While Terry's brother, Demetrius Flenory aka "Big Meech" is the more popular of the two. Terry was said to be the Boss. Terry's wife along with four other wives of BMF affiliates have started filming and plan on telling their side of the story. I am actually looking forward to seeing this. Staged? Jim Jones Proposes to Chrissy

Is it just me or did that proposal seem every bit of staged? I mean I like Chrissy. I want her to WIN, especially after reading the stories posted about her on other blogs. If you haven't heard, Chrissy has had a rough past.
Rumor has it: Chrissy had ex drug dealer boyfriends in New York like the infamous Alpo. She stole, did credit card scams and even carried the work across states for her gentlemen. There is even one rumor out there that she slept with Jay-Z when she was 23. The 44 year old proposed to Jim Jones who took forever to finally propose to her. But the time has come. Jim proposed to her in what was a cute, thug like proposal, ( and a Killer ROCK), but I can't help but to think it was only for the cameras. No doubt he really loves her. I just don't think he was ready to do that.

2012 No Twitter Beef Please (Young Jeezy)

Rapper Young Jeezy sat down with Vlad TV and talked about how one of his friends were killed over a Twitter beef. This goes to show you how now a days words do hurt people. Everybody isn't going to take you talking silly to them over the Internet, especially because you're embarrassing them on a larger scale. It's not like in high school when it was only a certain group of people. Depending on how many followers you have and who's following you, a person can really feel played. I encourage everyone on Twitter.com to not even participate in Twitter Beefing for the 2012. Let's be about the cake, no hate!

A Dose of LA wishes all of you a Happy New Year!! This year started on a Sunday, the first day of the week, which lets us all know that this year should be a year of ORDER. 


What is Order? Order - A standard of living which places your life on a definable track and makes life less complicated by eliminating confusion. 


There are 3 ways to achieving order.
1.) Examination - analyze your situation. Figure out what you have and don't have. Use what you GOT to get what you need.


2.) Evaluation - look at you rlife. Choose what is most important. Don't try to please people. Please yourself this year. Remember Winning and Wealth follows Wisdom.


3.) Elimination - Begin to separate the beneficial from the unnecessary. Anything that is not good for your progress this year, get rid of it NOW!


I Pray that each of you take these principles and run with them. I also pray that this year is one of the BEST YEARS OF MY READER'S LIVES!!!!
