October 5, 2011 Apple Co-Founder Steve Jobs lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 56 years old. I wasn't going to report on this at first, because it didn't fit the mode of my blog, but after a little research on the guy, I decided to. Steve Jobs was absolutely brilliant. I always say, be nice to the nerds, because you'll end up working for one. After reading some of his quotes, like, "It is better to be a pirate, than to join the navy," I was provoked to do so. Then, I saw this video. It REALLY inspired me. I hope it does the same from you. A message from Steve Jobs.....
R.I.P. Steve Jobs an innovator has gone home to rest.

Throwback: Nola Hip Hop D.J. Jimi "Where They At"
Alot of very famous people have this guy to thank for their success. New Orleans OWN D.J. Jimi gave ideas to alot of your favorite singers and rappers. Everyone from Uncle Luke to more famous Beyonce has used samples from this joint here. You can still hear some of this in your favorite joints today. If only New Orleans people supported New Orleans music more, maybe D.J. Jimi would've went farther! hmmph!

Luke is a HATER!
The same cat that came to New Orleans and stole our music style to get rich, Miami rapper Uncle LUKE, is upset that New Orleans artists who actually pay taxes on the properties they own in Miami are living it up in his city. Luke is originally from Miami and he feels that Artists like Lil Wayne and D.J. Khalid who are both from New Orleans, should be investing in youth programs in Miami instead of partying it up and living the life on South Beach..Oh..Ok...Well Luke can you come to New Orleans and invest some of the money that you made off the stuff you took from D.J. Jimi and them back in the day to get rich????
Here's what he had to say tho.....
I’ve got a message for Lil Wayne, his Cash Money Brothers, DJ Khaled, Puff Daddy and all the rappers from other parts of the country who now live in Miami. I’m tired of seeing these cats using up our beaches, soaking up our sunshine, taking over the nightclubs, and sleeping with our women without investing anything into the community. I want to know when Lil Wayne is going to do more than show up courtside at the American Airlines Arena. Hell, it’s not like he paid for them anyway. You know he got comped.
This free loading and mooching of my city has got to stop. There used to be a day when out of town rappers were scared to throw their weight around Miami. It didn’t matter if they were coming from New York or Los Angeles, they knew better than to act like they owned this mother f–ker.
Artists knew better than to come to Miami and disrespect us. But now folks in Miami’s entertainment industry have gone soft, turning into a bunch of groupies just because they want to say they drank Rozay with the Cash Money crew.
Just cause Lil Wayne and DJ Khaled are from New Orleans doesn’t mean they don’t have to be a part of the community. They’re getting rich under fun and sun. They rap in their songs about King of Diamonds and LIV nightclub, where Lil Wayne was partying it up with Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks after they beat the Miami Heat for the NBA championship.
What kind of sell-out move is that? I want to see Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, Puff Daddy and all their boys start doing more for Miami. I want to see them doing fundraisers to help youth sports and after school programs. I want to see them at FCAT rallies. I want to see them do like Pitbull who works closely with the Kiwanis Club in Little Havana and DJ Irie who puts on a charity weekend for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
I’m giving them a deadline. They got until January 1. If I don’t see them giving back to the Magic City, I’m gonna have their Miami cards revoked. They won’t be getting into any more nightclubs. They won’t be able to go near our women. And Lil Wayne is gonna have to find floor seats for New Orleans Hornets home games because he won’t be allowed inside the Triple A.

Review: Basketball Wives L.A.
I'm startng to think Basketball Wives L.A. only put this girl Draya on the show to tear her down. On this episode, the ladies find out shocking information about Draya and put her on blast. They all confront her. Gloria, Matt Barnes' finace comes to the realization that even if she doesn't marry Matt, she'll be able to make it without him. Laura supposedly takes her aggression out on Draya in the M.M.A. ring. She beats the girl down. Draya is playing absolutely clueless to the fact that these women REALLY don't care for her. Drama, Drama, Drama.

Throwback: Nola Hip Hop U.N.LV. "Drag Him from the River"
Throwback New Orleans rap group U.N.L.V. (Uptown Ni**as Living Violent) were the 1st successful underground group with New Orleans own Cash Money Records. With hit albums like Mac, Melph, Calliope and Uptown 4 Life, U.N.L.V. had quite a reign in the city. This caused them to be disliked by other rappers. One of those rappers was Rapper Mystikal formerly of Big Boy Records. The song below is a diss record to Mystikal. Of course back then, they kept it all on wax. Mystikal also had a nice come back song to this joint. The joint is entitled, "Bad Ass Yellow Boy." Yella Boy was one of the groups members who was murdered back in the day.

J.P. FAIL: Nola Hip Hop Artists Arrested for Video Shoot
Yesterday Rapper Lil DEE God's Gift attempted to shoot a video for his postive song, "Heart Listens," off his "The Spokesman" mixtape when things went horribly wrong. While acting out a robbery scene in a conveincve store, in which they had promission to do so, a passer by saw the act and called the cops. Before they knew it, a cops ran in the store and with his weapon drawn on the young rappers. While the rappers did use real guns, they were unloaded. The whole crew were arrested and face charges of criminal mischeif. Some were charged with illegal possesion of a concealed weapon. This is a TOTAL FAIL on Jefferson Parish Police Officers. For them to arrest these guys after finding out, it was only a video shoot and that they had permission to shoot it at the store is unjust. I pray that the cases get thrown out and I salute Lil Dee and his crew! To listen to "Heart Listens," or to find out more about Lil Dee got to http://www.lildeegodsgift.com/

B.E.T. Awards After Parties
The B.E.T. Hip Hop Awards were held in Atlanta, Georgia over this weekend. Of course, there were several after parties. Diddy and T.I. hosted a party last night at Compound and apparently, Diddy flipped out, because patrons were drinking Grey Goose Vodka instead of his brand, Ciroc. T.I. gets on the mic and tells Diddy to calm down with the b.s. he just came home from jail and he ain't got time for it.

Throwback: Nola Hip Hop M.C.L "Peep My Plan"
New Orleans Underground Hip Hop scene has always been a breeding ground for talented rappers. Some of the best artists out right now started on the New Orleans Underground Hip Hop Scene. Rappers like Lil Wayne are all products of the Nola Underground Hip Hop scene. In honor of the Nola Hip Hop Awards, I will be posting a throwback video of a New Orleans Underground Rapper each day.
This one come from the ever so talented M.C. L. M.C. L hails from the 7th Ward area in New Orleans and was most known for his rap beef with former Cash Money rap group U.N.L.V. L dropped 2 albums and even had a shot to join the Ghetto Boys group, who hailed from Houston, Texas. L declined on that deal, because he didn't feel he would make any money with them. He put out some heat back in the day on the New Orleans underground market though. You can find some of his music on youtube.com and http://reverbnation.com/mclinc
