Tyler Perry Explains Why He's confused, Sexually

An emotional Tyler Perry was on the Oprah Winfrey show yesterday and opened up for the first time on television about being abused and molested three times before he even reached the age of 10. During the hour long segment, he revealed that his father once beat him so bad that he blanked out for a few days.

Til this day, I don’t know why he did it. But I remember him cornering me in a room and hitting me with this vacuum cleaner cord. He would just not stop. There are all these welts on [me], the flesh that’s coming from my bone, and I had to wait for him to go to sleep,” Tyler says. “When he fell asleep, I ran to my aunt’s house, and she was mortified when she saw it.

Tyler Perry also revealed that he was 6 the first time he was molested by a neighbor. They were building a birdhouse together when the man put his hands down his pants.“I’m thinking, ‘What is this?’And I felt my body betraying me, because I felt an erection at that age.”

Not too long after that, Tyler was molested by a male nurse that he knew from church.

“[The man from church] used God and the Bible against me to justify a lot of the things that were going on. It was so horrible, and that was my first sexual experience, with this man performing oral sex on me as a boy.”

When Tyler was 10 years old, he was molested again by a friend’s mother. The woman put her son in the bathroom to take a bath and when Tyler was about to leave, she appeared in front of him wearing lingerie. She locked the door and when he tried to leave she said:

“You want to go home? Here’s the key? I come over to get it, and she puts it inside of herself and she tells me to get it. So I—I get the key, but I feel my body betraying me again because I felt an erection. This is so disgusting, you know, what these people did to this little boy.

The woman pulled him on top of her and Tyler had his first sexual experience at the age of 10.

Tyler went on to tell Oprah that the molestations left him confused sexually.

How could it not? I knew I liked the little girls in the neighborhood, but this man was doing something to me and my body kept betraying me. It took me all of my 20s to figure out what this was that this man had given me to carry inside of my heterosexuality that did not belong to me. This is why so many men will not talk about this—the shame of having to admit that.

Til this day, Tyler has to deal with the aftermath of being molested and it has even affected his relationships. He recalls a time that he was unable to perform because a woman locked the door before they became intimate and he had flashbacks of his friend’s mother. Another time, a woman he was in love with walked in wearing lingerie and it triggered the day he was molested again.

“All of these people had given me something to carry,” Tyler says. “I think that everyone who’s been abused, there is a string to the puppet master, and they’re holding you hostage to your behaviors and what you do. At some point, you have to be responsible for them. What I started to do is untie the strings and chase them down to where they came from. And I was able to free myself and understand that even though these things happened to me, it was not me.”

During the show, Tyler admitted that he has forgiven his father but he doesn’t want him to be a part of his life. After his father heard him talk about the abuse, he sent a message to Tyler that said:

“If I had beat your ass one more time, you probably would have been Barack Obama.”

This certainly explains alot....or maybe he's using this as an excuse to "OUT" himself.

NOLA HIP HOP AWARDS.....

"The Wrap UP"

I had the privileged to attend the Nola Underground Hip Hop awards as a presenter. From the start is was very well organized, although it started late.
The red carpet was laid out and limos were pulling up. Photographers and videographers were in place. Reporte
rs were there from Urban Orleans and other companies. Security was in place. Seats were reserved and there was an exclusive V.I.P. section for artists and presenters. The place
was filled with entertainers, fans and the like. After a couple early performances, comedian Rude Jude and myself went up to present the 1st 2 awards, best female
and male rapper. The winners of those awards w
ere Nesby Phips and Na'tee. They both said short and sweet thank you speeches and the show continued.
There was a on the spot cypher where bounce rapper P-town Moe proved a front one seated DJ Raj Smooth wrong, by confessing to him, "You think I can't rap, because I be on that bounce shit, look." Then he spit a hot lil
verse to leave the crowd in awe, because he went ha
rder than most of the previous rappers in the cypher. I honestly like Lyrics verse the best, but hey that's me. T
here was also a tribute to Soulja Slim where his mother went up to accept his award and almost brought the audience to tears. Former No Limit rapper Mac announced the nominees for Best Single via phone from prison and bounce diva Big Freeda
accepted his award video. Dee-1 also called in to accept his award because he was
out of town on business.
Several People received lifet
ime achievement awards, including an absent Wild Wayne of radio station Q-93. Psychoward DJ's received an award, B. Mike won for best videographer and Sess 45 took home an award for his single, "Stingy." As best group was award to Tygawoods, another rap group, "The U
Boys" chanted their name over the speaker. This prompted one of the event coordinators to approach them an apologize to them for not having them on the bill. P-town Moe also had a Kanye West lie moment when he ran on stage with someone. Allie B and Na'tee held it down with performances for the ladies and Tha Cartel, Sess 45, The Show and others performed. Everyone from Myself, Dizzy, Skip, Comedian Rude Jude and, DJ Bombshell Boogie and others presented awards. to end the show, there was a performance from rapper jay Electronica who set it off by proclaiming that Wild Wayne not being present at the event was some "Hoe shit." This left some of the crowd in awe because not everyone knew where the comment had stemmed from. Jay electrified the mic nonetheless and the event ended with no drama. It was a beautiful and unforgettable night. It was in one word EPIC!

Beyonce Pregnant?????

Beyonce Knowles better brush up on her lullabies.

The 29-year-old singer is pregnant with her first child, the new Us Weekly reports.

Despite the happy news, no one was more surprised than the singer herself.

“B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn’t ready to be a mother just yet,” says a source of the singer, who married rapper Jay-Z in 2008. “She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again.”

Still, another insider says that the singer, who is in her first trimester, realizes that “this is a gift from God and she’s so happy.”

Friends of the couple are already expressing their well-wishes for the parents-to-be.

“Jay has been all about family since I met him, and he’s always going to be,” record executive Kevin Liles, who has known the rapper for years, tells Us. “I wish them the best.”

Knowles’ sister Solange — and mom to Julez, 6 — agrees.

“She’s got the most beautiful heart,” she tells Us of her big sis. “She’ll be a great mom.”

NOLA Underground Hip Hop Awards (The Good, the Bad, the Ugly)

New Orleans underground hip hop is growing profusely. Seems like everyday, there's a new rapper hitting the scene. Whether male or female, New Orleans boasts the most TALENT. So why not celebrate the talented and award the artists that have been putting in work. "Traffic Boutique" owner, Lawrence Parker decided to do just that. Along with some sponsers, he is giving N.O. underground artists a chance to shine. His reason, and I quote, “[New Orleans underground hip-hop] hasn’t been getting the light shined on it like it is supposed to. I see a lot of artists, I see how hard they work. I wanted to reach back and show the guys who have been putting in the work that I have respect for them and what they have being doing the last year or so.”

This Tuesday Oct. 19th at the Howlin Wolf will be EPIC for more reasons than one. Winners in some categories will be chosen by panelists from the local hip-hop and media community, while other categories will be determined by online public vote, including an open vote for the big prize, NOLA Artist of the Year. The show is filled with guest hosts, guest performers and special tributes. Show starts at 8 pm, red carpet 6:30 pm. I commend Law, who is also nominated for "Hustler of the Year Award" on all his hard work and dedication to his love for hip hop.

With nominations for Best Female Rapper, Best Male Rapper, Best Bounce Artist, Best Producer and Best Group, this is sure to be a very diverse show. There is also a trbute to Soulja Slim, Mac and Bionik Brown. Plus, a few people will recieve Lifetime Achievement Awards. ( DJ Ice Mike, DJ Raj Smooth, Wild Wayne, E.F. Cuttin, D.J. Jubille and D.J. Big Cheez) That's the good part.

It get's bad when you have artists that did put in work throughout the year, that didn't get nominated. It makes those artists feel as if the panel and organizers are being BIAS when choosing the nominees. By bias I mean that they're only nominating people that they know are as some would say, that are "in their circle" and that people who put in work were over looked or under nominated. Take heed that this happens in every award show though. Whether local or national, somebody will always feel as if they are left out. For instance, I feel that a ceratin group, although I won't mention their name, should have been nominated in something, because I've seen their hard work and dedication. They have put out a few songs and even recieved like 10,000 downloads on one of them. They are underground, they should be in the running, but they are not. This is never the organizers fault though and that is what people must realize. There is a panel of people who are picking out the nominees. Just like on the BET "Top 10" that recentl y came out, the panel chose who would make it in the top 10. People may not agree but it's the panel's choices. What an artist has to do in this case is do bigger and better the next year, to be sure that they are included or start their own show and or movement.

Now things get UGLY when people become bitter over things that they have no control over. Twitter.com was popping this past Sunday evening with tweets about the event. Below are sample tweets that were posted. In these tweets, people released their frustration with the event. They wanted to know why they weren't nominated? Who picked out the panelist? Why certain people were not included in the panel? They defined what an underground artist meant. They went back and forth, ultimatley coming up with no conclusion but giving the event alot of PRESS! I respect certain people's opinions. Several People tweeted that they knew behind the scenes things that were "unfair" concerning the event. People felt alot of things were changed and more nominees were added because of complaints from upset artists. I have no proof of these things, so I cannot comment on them, but I did see the TWEETS. I've favorited the tweets on my Twitter page, Http://twitter.com/lanino_brown . Check out the tweets and you be the judge!!!!

Again the show starts at 8pm and the red carpet is for 6:30 pm. It will be located at the Howlin Wolf and Jay Electronica is Special Guest.

Congrats Monica!!!

Jay-Z and Dame's Ex Partner Arrested

Kareem "Biggs" Burke, Jay-Z and Dame Dash's former partner in Roc-A-Fella Records, is one of 43 people arrested for alleged involvement in a New York City marijuana ring.

According to the NY Daily News, the operation was called "Green Venom" and controlled the pot market in the city. The Feds also took $1 million in cash and 177 pounds of weed in the bust.

"This isn't just a group that controlled one block, one neighborhood," Jim Hayes, a Homeland Security special agent, told the Daily News. "They dominated the wholesale marijuana market in New York for 20 years."

Biggs' alleged role in the ring has yet to be revealed. Feds also arrested Geovanny (Manny) Rodriguez Perez, the alleged head of the operation, and Matt Stang, an ad executive for popular marijuana magazine, High Times.

I'm guessing life after working with Jay-Z sucks for all.....little Willow (Will and jada's kid) better be careful.
