Rapper Canibus said it best: "The Greatest Rapper of All Time died on March 9th."
He was referring to none other that the man himself, the Notorious B.I.G. Hailing from Brooklyn New York where he was labled the "King of New York," because of how he bought "East Coast" rap back, Biggie goes down in history as if not the greatest, one of them. Biggie bravely smashed into a "West Coast" dominated rap game in the mid 90's selling millions of copes and touching many lives. He was signed to Diddy's Bad Boy label. He is known for hits such as "One More Chance," "Juicy," "Hypnotize," "Who Shot Ya," and "Mo Money, Mo Problems."
Biggie's music spoke of where he was at in life. Caught up in a strange beef with Rapper Tupac Shakur, Biggie sensed his death, hence his album titles, "Life After Death," and "Ready to Die." Although it's been said by Tupac that Biggie had something to do with him being shot, Biggie's team says otherwise. The real story will never come out, because both rappers were killed far before their time. When Biggie died he was only 24. He left behind his wife, singer Faith Evans, his daughter Taiyana and his son Christopher Jr. He also leaves his great work. So, now I'm bumping "Ready to Die."
We'll always love Big Poppa!!! ;)
